Adina (Katharine Scavone, left) enters and can't believe her eyes (neither can Dr. Dulcamara, who begins to believe his Elixir actually works!).

She experiences a range of emotions as she hears from Dr. Dulcamara that Nemorino sold himself into the army to get the money to buy Elixir so he could win the love of some cruel beauty. She realizes that his is a true love, and she has spurned it.

Dr. Dulcamara (John Allec) sees an opportunity to sell more Elixir, this time to Adina, but she is quite confident about winning Nemorino without recourse to chemicals. “My Elixir is in my eyes and my smile,” she tells a frustrated Doctor.

There are a few more complications, but it isn’t long before Adina (Angela Di Serio, above) has declared her love to a dazzled Nemorino who believes that the Elixir of Love has finally worked! When the rest of the villagers rush in (below), they find the lovers embracing, Belcore (Stephen Targett) philosophical about finding another girl from the thousands attracted to him, and Dr. Dulcamara (John Allec) eager to sell more Elixir before he bids the village farewell.
