David Lasker
Basso David Lasker took his very first voice lesson with maestro Daniel Eby in 2005 and appeared the following year as Mr. Kofner in Menottis The Consul with TrypTych Productions. After studying double-bass at the Aspen Music Festival and at Juilliard, he obtaining his B.A. and Master of Music at Yale, then moved to Canada after winning the audition for principal double-bass in the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. He was soloist in the Koussevitzky Concerto with the Toronto Philharmonia and is a regular extra with the National Ballet of Canada Orchestra. The author of The Boy Who Loved Music (Viking Press), he was Fashion & Design Editor at The Globe and Mail and editor of Canadian Interiors. He is Vice President of MarketLink Communications and enjoys record-collecting.
