Mezzo-Soprano Erika Ross has studied voice since the age of four, performing in youth choirs and musicals including My Fair Lady and The Sound of Music in the Catskills region of New York. After pursuing her Ph.D. in Art History and Medieval Studies at the University of Toronto, Erika returned to her love of voice work in 2005. She freelances as a voice-over artist with The Mediatech Group in Toronto and volunteers as a news reader for Voice Print Canada’s broadcasts for the blind. This is Erika’s debut role with the Toronto Opera Repertoire, and she will also be seen this March in TOR’s Opera Excerpts, performing scenes from Lakme and Orfeo. She currently studies with Robert Loewen.
