The conspirators have chosen dark capes with red sashes so they can identify each other at the ball.



Renato (Yevgeny Yablonovsky) is eager to discover how Riccardo is disguised, and questions Oscar (Katie Cross). She teases him, but finally reveals what Riccardo will be wearing.



Riccardo (Taras Chmil) identifies Amelia (Maria Knight) and tells her that, though he loves her, he must forswear his love and return her and her husband to England.



Renato (Yevgeny Yablonovsky) identifies Riccardo, stabs him, and is unmasked by Oscar.



The guests call for Renato’s death, as Riccardo (Taras Chmil) falls to the floor and is consoled by Oscar (Katie Cross).



As Riccardo (Taras Chmil) dies in the arms of Oscar (Katie Cross) and Amelia (Maria Knight), he tells Renato that, though he loved Amelia, he neither defiled her honour nor Renato’s name, and pardons all.
