Adolfo De Santis, Music Director
Adolfo De Santis is a Canadian-born musician who has lived and studied in Italy, where he graduated with distinction in piano, composition and orchestral conducting. He won several national competitions and took the top prize in the Stresa International Chamber Music Competition. Mr. De Santis has collaborated with Ars Musica, Centuries Opera, and the Palestrina Chamber Chorus. In addition to his work with TOR, he collaborates with The Canadian Tenors and works with several school choirs.
Valentin Bogolubov, Pianist
Born in Latvia, where he studied piano, violin, voice and choral conducting, Bogolubov was awarded First Prize at the Latvian Piano Competition and at the Panbaltic Piano Competition. After completing his studies at the Moscow Conservatory, he returned to theLatvian Conservatory in Riga to teach piano.
He was invited to conduct at the Latvian States Opera Theater, where he directed several opera productions. Following this, he became assistant conductor at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. As a pianist, he has collaborated with the greatest Russian singers. He also played piano and conducted at the Kremlin. After returning to Latvia, Valentin took up the duties of Artistic Director at the Riga Chamber Opera and the Riga Salon for Music and the Arts. He was the soloist with orchestras from Moscow, Latvia and Lithuania, played piano recitals in Russia, France and Germany. Several of these performances have been recorded and broadcast.
Since arriving in Canada, Valentin Bogolubov has given several piano recitals in Montreal, Quebec, Toronto, Moncton and New York, and has recorded several CDs. He teaches piano and voice, and has given master classes throughout Canada.
